General information
You can find Twist and Drink on the beverage shelves in grocery stores as well as in tobacconists, fuel stations and many other points of sale.
Twist and Drink is manufactured by Klosterquell Hofer in Lower Austria. But it is highly popular across the world: 80 % of its annual production is exported globally in 25 countries. The most important markets include Germany, Belgium and Great Britain, but our beverages are also in great demand in Arabian countries, in Australia or China under the name “Twist and Drink”.
Twist and Drink consists to 85% of fresh mountain spring water. The source, consisting of three company-owned springs, lies in direct proximity to the production location at the foot of the 2,076 metre-high Schneeberg, and is diverted fresh into our production facility only six minutes away from the point of emergence. Other ingredients are high-quality fruit juice concentrate and Austrian beet sugar. We purposefully avoid the use of colourings (with the exception of the Cola Mix variety), artificial flavourings and flavour enhancers.
Twist and Drink is manufactured only from the finest ingredients such as fresh mountain spring water and Austria beet sugar. We also use high-quality fruit juice concentrate. The fruit juice proportion of Twist and Drink is, typical for a lemonade, up to 12% depending on the variety.
Yes, the entire Twist and Drink range is both vegan and halal.
Parents and children
Twist and Drink is suitable for children aged 3 and up, which is why the packaging is ergonomically designed. To ensure a smooth edge, we regularly check our machines. For many children, our perforation is the first they can open by themselves, making it a small achievement for many!
Environment
The basic granules for our polyethylene pouches are sourced from Germany. Polyethylene is unbreakable, taste and odour-neutral and free of plasticisers (BPA). From this material, the compact Twist and Drink pouches are formed, filled and sealed in Gutenstein (Lower Austria). Any material parts remaining from this process are reused in the Twist and Drink manufacturing process, meaning that no waste is produced during the pouch production. Polyethylene is recyclable; in Austria, our packaging can be collected in recycling bags or bins.
For us, the safety of our consumers is of the utmost concern. For this reason, we use polyethylene as the material for our pouches. It is unbreakable, taste and odour-neutral and free of plasticisers (BPA). It thus offers maximum safety and hygiene for a childrens’ product such as Twist and Drink. Most of our Twist and Drink products are exported, meaning that a large proportion of the value added remains in Austria. Therefore, we focus on generating as little environmental pollution as possible: Our ecological assessment shows that the use of packaging made of glass for Twist and Drink would only be sustainable, and therefore expedient, within a radius of 150-200 km around the production location in Gutenstein (Lower Austria). Salzburg, for example, would be too far away, not to mention Berlin or Oslo!
The polyethylene material guarantees maximum safety and hygiene for a childrens’ product such as Twist and Drink. It does not contain plasticisers (BPA-free) and is completely taste and odour neutral. This is an advantage of polyethylene in comparison to materials such as PET, and it makes the products safe.
